Professional Engineering and Engineering Consultancy Services
A Professional Engineer is someone that has completed the education, experience, and other licensure requirements of the state in which they are offering services. With the qualifications verified by the state, the engineer is prepared to offer work products such as engineering design drawings and engineering reports to clients. The form and purpose of these work products are typically well-defined.
Engineering consultancy is different from typical Professional Engineering in that the clients may need to engage a professional to help them define the scope of their project prior to beginning the work or the nature of the project is novel, atypical, or possibly involving an allegation that professional services have not met the Standard of Care required of those services.
